About the team

Milton Keynes Hockey Club Men’s 1s are one of the longest-standing teams in the England Hockey South Premier Division 1; one of the most competitive leagues in the country.

Having earned promotion back in 2010, the Mens 1s are contesting their 11th consecutive season in the division in 2020-2021, competing against some of the country’s biggest and best-funded hockey clubs. This season the squad hopes to build on their 9th place finish in the 2019/20 season and fight more consistently with the top teams in the league.

The Mens 1s squad is made up of a mixture of experienced and young players, with eleven of the squad representing Milton Keynes at junior age-groups before progressing to the 1st XI. We continue to encourage the development of juniors in the 1st XI wider training squad.

Leading the coaching of the 1st XI this season will be Brett Holland, alongside team manager Ian Knight. Ian Cooper is also beginning his tenure as Captain, taking over from Tom Murtagh after three strong seasons.

If you are interested in joining our competitive and sociable 1st XI squad at MKHC, please contact Ian Cooper, we’d love to welcome you down to Woughton.
