MKHC Ladires 4XI Vs Abingdon Pilgrims

The ladies 4’s managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Abingdon Pilgrims in the lovely English weather.

The first half started positively with strong passes being made from our midfield to the forward line. Abbey and Nikki along with Carol, Linda and Jo were making strong tackles and kept Abingdon’s forwards out, with some terrific saves by Vanessa, until one cheeky ball slipped passed into the goal. However, this did not dampen our spirits! Amber, Emily and George, with help from Sophie, maintained the midfield, making some amazing passes across pitch, down the line and to the centre continuously pressing the Abingdon defences.

The full time whistle was looming and the Rothman Wonders made some fierce passes and used some amazing skills to get the ball to Dani who secured the goal. A great team performance once again for the 4’s.

Man of the match was our fabulous Lia, which is well deserved from her amazing efforts throughout the whole game. However, our captain who graciously revived doughnut of the day, decided to play some questionable football half way through the game, and unlike Liverpool she did not have VAR to help get her out of that one!
