It was a fiercely competitive match between MK and Buckingham. Buckingham took an early lead with quick runners breaking through MK’s defence, prompting MK to tighten up our marking and close down space. Phoebe and Lou held their ground in midfield, delaying and denying Buckingham’s advances, while Claire and Verity’s passing around the back helped maintain possession under pressure. Zoe held firm in the middle, putting in strong tackles to block Buckingham’s attacks, and Pat showed composure under pressure, clearing the ball out of the D at crucial moments.

In the second half, MK broke through Buckingham’s defence with attacking runs and shots on goal from Em and Jess. MK’s persistence paid off when Lia assisted Siobhan, who slotted the ball across the line to secure the team’s goal. From the beginning of the match, Lindsay made multiple outstanding saves, denying multiple drag flicks from Buckingham’s short corners.

The match was heated throughout, with five green cards across both teams. Despite the 3 - 1 final scoreline, MK battled until the end, showing grit and determination across the pitch.
