The sun was shining a little too brightly when MK began their warm up. By taking a young side, MK were confident that their team would be able to run rings around the opposition.

Tactically switching ends before push back, to avoid the blinding sunshine, MK quickly penetrated Newbury's D. After receiving a lovely pass in plenty of space, a young Reece decided to have a go on his reverse for the first shot of the game. Connecting only with the nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules within the air, Reece's set a strong president for further MK goal attempts throughout the match.

Conceding two goals within quick succession, MK needed to get their act together. After several minutes of strong and relentless attack from Newbury, MK were able to smash through and score their first goal of the game. With a firm and decisive strike from Doug Spencer (narrowly missing captain Will, who was on the floor at the time) the Newbury backboard rang out with the sound of a goal. This concluded the first half score at 2-1 to Newbury. MK were certainly in a position to make a strong comeback in the second half...

Now with the blinding sunshine in MK eyes, the ability to pass to one another seemed to evaporate like morning dew. This firmly stacked the deck in Newbury's favour, which they did not hesitate to take advantage of. The defence's fortitude, marking, and tackling crumbled, leaving them open to almost every penetration that Newbury sent their way.

Despite this, man of the match Jonny Waters showed considerable strength, tenacity, and desire to succeed. With strong challenges and clear runs, he showed potential to be moulded into a strong MK forward.

With the outcome of the game looking fairly conclusive, MK were able to score a consultation goal in the latter half of the second half. Reece Armstrong somehow managing to convince a Newbury defender to put in a deflection for him, bringing the score to 5-2.

As the match wound down to its final minutes, Newbury decided to score once more, for good measure, leaving the final score at 6-2.

To conclude, while the game as a whole was a disappointment, MK showed (in passages of play) that they are a capable side. With the right training (cough cough see you on Wednesday) they could easily turn this season around.
