This week MK 2s welcomed an up and coming Marlow side to WotG for what would surely be a hard fought game. We started strongly in the first half with some good passing and attacking play in the oppo's half but could not convert the half chances we created. Marlow then found their tempo and it wasn't long before MK had conceded another scrappy goal. After some sustained pressure, aided by some sloppy passing, Marlow scored again and our heads dropped.

Trying to force our way back into the game we became too predictable and they closed us down quickly from the back. 2-0 at half time and we came back out as we started, they were using the wet pitch to their advantage and passing the ball around nicely. It was the slippy pitch that caused our courageous right half to take a devastating fall while in acres of space and nowhere near the ball, however he managed to dust himself of and persevere without anyone noticing.

As Marlow tired, MK started to put some better passing together and created a few good chances but still couldn't find a goal until Max popped up in the D to slot home a well worked goal. That was the last real event of the game and another unfortunate defeat for MK.
