Milton Keynes welcomed Wycombe 3s for the first league game of a new-look 3s side. With the two teams playing out a pair of 2-2 draws last season, a close game was expected and despite the scoreline, the game was closely fought throughout. Unfortunately, some good solo work from Wycombe's striker saw the ball put into the goal mid-way through the half. Some solid structural play and good work when called upon from Dylan Watson in goal kept the deficit to one at half-time.
Milton Keynes started the second half brightly, creating a few chances but Wycombe extended their lead from a short corner. After this Wycombe seemed quite happy to sit back and hit on the counter attack while Milton Keynes pushed in search of a comeback. However, Milton Keynes couldn't quite find the final ball into the D, and with the side losing a bit of structure towards the end, eventually one of Wycombe's breaks did see them break out into a 3-0 lead, which how the game finished.
