Mens 3s Make It Five Undefeated

MK 3s continued their run with a thoroughly professional performance away to Oxford 3 to make it five games undefeated, despite missing the experienced figureheads of Mike and Doug. The warm-up was slightly curtailed by the assigned umpire's need to get to another game straight afterwards, with Hutch being easily the least pleased by this arrangement, though he did just about manage to get his tracksuit off in time to start. Despite the shortened warmup time, MK settled down well in the first half and soon enough had taken a 2-0 lead. MK relaxed a bit too much at this point and let Oxford back into it as the home side launched a few of attacks, with one resulting in an excellent finish by Josh Oakley as he somehow managed to lob his own keeper while trying to prevent an Oxford player doing that exact same thing. Fortunately, this seemed to wake MK back up and they quickly restored the two-goal lead to go into half-time 3-1 up.

The second half Oxford started brightly, putting MK under a fair amount of pressure. However, the defence held out and MK made the most of its first breakaway in the half to go 4-1 up. This seemed to deflate Oxford and send MK's confidence skyrocketing as they made sure not to repeat the error of the first half and put the result completely beyond doubt. Four more expertly-taken goals resulted, as well as Will Luther managing to wind-up an opposition player, who he made up with in a club at 1am that night. In the end MK took home a well deserved 8-1 victory, with the agreed goal scorers being Jonny Wyatt (3), David Breuilly (2), Paul Hutchinson, David McMillan, and Nick Lygo-Baker, though I have no idea order they came in.
