The 11 Milton Keynes 3s players that travelled down to Marlow put in a very brave performance to give Marlow 3s a very good game and nearly sneak away with a point. Marlow started strong, getting an early numerical advantage after two rather eager tackles from Sam Bushell resulted in a green card. Sam's two-minute break didn't result in a goal but Marlow did mange to score twice after some brief lapses in marking were punished. However, MK regrouped well and kept the game at 2-0 and within reach at half-time.
MK improved in the second half with some slightly more patient build up play and keeping an impressive level of intensity considering the lack of subs. Marlow did have a few chances to go further ahead, with Doug Spencer showing some good footwork on the line resulting a penalty stroke that was thankfully missed and a great series of stops by Dan Wells within a few seconds of each other. After a few breaks went wanting when they approached the D, MK finally got on the scoresheet when Joshua Mulgrew rounded off a fine performance with great work down to the right before playing in Will Luther who put a reserve-stick bunt (not a strike as he would like you to believe) into the goal. Unfortunately, MK couldn't quite grab a last-minute equaliser but another great effort that ensures optimism going forward.

DoD - Will Luther after taking a big swing-and-a-miss then immediately following it up by yelling at the umpire as though it was his fault.
