Milton Keynes Ladies 3s made a slow start and Phoenix & Ranelagh made them pay by scoring early on. This woke MK up and they had long periods of possession in the Phoenix 23 but could not put their shots away even with three consecutive short corners. MK used the width well but were a bit slow making their decisions with the ball which the opposition made the most of and gained the ball back. Siobhan Kavanagh making her debut in the 3's worked tirelessly on the right hand side looking comfortable with the ball and sending the ball down the line to Megan Ellis and Megan Venturi or inside to Laura Dudley and Emma Kynaston. Laura Rundle had a strong game on the left hand side sending the ball into the circle several times but MK could not quite get on the end of it.
In the second half MK continued with a lot of possession but struggled to progress out of midfield with the ball. MK were punished for being too far from their players when Phoenix scored a breakaway solo goal. They added a third from a short corner. This was to be the final score. MK have a lot of positives to take from this game but need to be a bit quicker to the ball and show some more determination to want the ball.
Man of the match went to Ceci Carames .
