The Samurai finished their 2016 fixtures against Ramgahria Slough, who topped the table with an impressive ten wins from ten. The Sams worked hard across the pitch but were powerless to avoid conceding two goals in the first twenty minutes. Despite this, heads remained high and shortly before half time, MK pulled a goal back with a beautiful counter-attack - from a crunching tackle by Mike within our own 23 to a first senior goal by Nathan within a matter of seconds.
The second half was very even as MK searched for an equaliser and Ramgahria tried to restore a two goal lead. The two minutes which ultimately decided the game happened in the middle of the second half, when Jonny was millimetres away from levelling the scores, and two minutes later MK conceded a sloppy third after a mis-hit ball from sixteen.
Despite the loss, it was a positive performance against a team who have dished out several thrashings so far this season. The Sams go into the Christmas break just above the relegation zone, but with more performances like the last few weeks after Christmas, we ought to be comfortably safe.
