A much improved performance from the Samurai saw a very close 4-3 defeat. MK took the lead early on, but went down to three soft goals in the first half, going into half time at 1-3. A string of attacks and opportunities in the second half saw MK close the gap to 2-3, but while pushing for an equalizer, Staines scored from a counter-attack, restoring the 2-goal cushion. Yet more attacks saw MK score again to create a nail-biting last 5 minutes, but were unable to find their way past an exceptional goalkeeper.
