Milton Keynes Ladies 2s v Oxford Hawks

Milton Keynes Ladies 2s dismissed the option of a #duvetday, to play hockey in the remnants of hurricane Kate. The team were buzzing to play 2nd in the league.

Milton Keynes were slow to start, with very defensive play barricading Oxford Hawks (OH) from entering the D. Unfortunately this tactic wasn't going to last and OH snuck a goal in from a tight angle. Shortly followed by another goal.

Milton Keynes ladies did not let there hair down, and continued to keep the pressure on Oxford Hawks. A storming ball to Pia allowed a classic PSRDTR crossing the ball into the D. Mally had a strike a goal, forcing the goaly to make a fantastic save. Fortunately Lisa was feeling sneaky in ugly zone and before you know it, the ball was over the goal line. First half ended 2-1.

Although the game was end to end, OH made it 3-1. Milton Keynes continued to push them and not long after won a short corner. A PP (perfect push) from Sophie Wombell was trapped by Sonia, allowing Sofie to drill the ball to the left post for Mally to get her stick on the end and place it in the goal. 3-2.

Milton Keynes kept the pressure on. Lizzie sent a PP to Pia. Pia and Sofie made some quick passes to work the ball down the right, to allow Sofie to send the ball across the D for another ball for Mally to knock in left post. Final score 3-3 and a very happy 2s team.
